Have you been diagnosed with NASH (Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease) ? We have a unique plasma donation program to help the research and diagnostic community further research this disease. Donating plasma is a very safe and simple procedure thru a process called plasmapheresis. During the procedure your plasma is spun off of the red cells and your red blood cells are returned thru you during the process. Plasma is the clear yellowish part of the red blood cells that house various proteins and antibodies which is why it is needed for research.
Donating plasma is so safe that the FDA has approved these types of donations from individuals twice in a 7 day period, whereas when you donate whole blood cells you can only do so every 8 weeks/56 days. Plasma is replenished within a 24-48 hour period but whole blood takes 8 weeks to rebuild after your donation.
